Apex Alliance Hotel Management has opened The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection in Bucharest Old Town, following an investment of €42 million.
The 217-room hotel opened in a historical building that previously housed the HQ of the former Marmorosch-Blank bank.
The opening marks Autograph Collection Hotels first hotel in Romania. The consolidation and restoration work for the building, decorated in neo-Romanian style, lasted three years and were led by the Cumulus architecture office.
“This elegant hotel situated at a fantastic address in the city will appeal to both the corporate and leisure segment of guests who seek new experiences in the City,” said Gerhard Erasmus, CEO of Apex Alliance Hotel Management.
BCR, part of Austrian Erste Group, financed the development of the hotel.
“There are plenty of heritage buildings in the historical centre that need rehabilitation and upgrades, and such initiatives are a proof of the city's tourism and development potential,” said Bogdan Cernescu, BCR’s Corporate Coverage Director.
Apex Alliance operates five hotels in Bucharest with more than 1,000 rooms. The group has invested around €120 million in Romania to date.
