The last month of 2022 brought a 0.7% decrease in rents compared to the previous month with prices in Budapest sinking by 0.9%, ingatlan.com reports.
However, the overall picture was still grim as the total increase in rents remained high for the whole of 2022. Prices went up 20.2% in the country and 21.9% in the capital last year compared to 2021.
The average asking price in Budapest was HUF 200,000 per month (approximately €500) in January this year, followed by a small group of main secondary cities (Győr, Debrecen, Székesfehérvár, Tatabánya and Veszprém) with HUF 150,000 per month (appr. €400).
