Hotel chain Accor has signed a management contract with the owner of Binderbubi Hotel & Spa in Mediaș. As part of the agreement signed with local company Daflog, the hotel will be the seventh in Romania to join the Mercure network.

The hotel is being renovated and will open for business in May. It will feature 46 rooms for guests, two meeting rooms and facilities such as a restaurant, a bar and a spa with an indoor heated pool.

“Mediaș and its surroundings have a significant tourism potential and we can’t wait to increase its visibility through our network,” says Cătălina Roșu, Accor’s Development Director for Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova Republic, and Czech Republic.

Accor aims to have 50 affiliated hotels in Romania by 2020, comprising new buildings, conversions, and renovations of existing projects.

Internationally, the Accor group manages over 5,000 hotels and more than 10,000 bars and hotels in 110 countries.

Accor shares were trading at €33.43 on Thursday. Its market cap stood at €8.91 billion.
